What We Believe

The First Christian Church of Canyon Country is a fellowship of believers with a great commitment to the great commandment and great commission:
To know God’s love
To grow in God’s love
To love God and others
To go and share God’s love.

(Mark 12:28-34; Matthew 28:19-20)

We are a Bible believing fellowship dedicated to restoring the pattern of New Testament Christianity. We are not part of a denomination.

Faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of the world. Mark 16:16, Romans 1:17, 10:10-17.

Repentance from sin, for it is “Godly sorrow” for sin that leads to a changed life. Luke 13:3-5, Acts 2:38, 17:30.

Baptism into Christ, which is burial in water symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord. Matthew 28:29, Romans 6:1-6, Galatians 3:26-27.

Confession of Faith in Christ at every opportunity. (Initially mad at one’s baptism, but continually made through-out the Christian life). Matthew 10:32, Luke 12:8, Romans 10:9,10.

Growth…when one becomes a part of the Body of Christ (here or elsewhere) it is imperative to GROW in Christian faith and virtue, striving to become more Christ-like in all things, bearing the fruit of the Spirit. II Peter 1:5, 3:18.
